Artist Spotlight: Flammy Marciano

Written by Troy Ewers

San Jose’s rap scene has always been an incredibly diverse music scene. Vietnamese, Mexican, Black, Samoan, and White rappers of all genders and backgrounds have given the music scene many points of view.

There’s one point of view that the city has always needed.. That point of view is the rapper who can generate star power. Southside San Jose rapper Flammy Marciano has been an entertainer since he was at Del Roble Elementary School. Acting, rapping, and just being an all around entertaining person when he’s in front of camera or off camera has been Flammy’s calling. Rapping all throughout his high school career at Oak Grove HS, he had already created a bigger buzz than most rappers in the city. With such a strong following Flammy garnered attention from some of the biggest names in the rap game; doing shows for Too Short, Nipsey, and more. Flammy now had the respect of OG’s to go along with his countless freestyles, mixtapes, and hit single ‘Mood RN’. It wasn’t just the OG’s who were fans, the younger generation love his sound, his energy, and some found Flammy’s music due to his gaming ability. One of the biggest moments in Flammy’s career was his album “SZN”, released on Trizzy E Baby’s Channel 88 Records. “SZN” showed the versatility and raw talent of Flammy Marciano, songs like ‘Southside’, ‘Sawse’, and ‘Play Action’ were songs that could turn any party into a riot while songs like; ‘Deion’, ‘Vic’s Story 3’ and ‘Ten Toes Down’, were examples of Marciano’s quality storytelling and vulnerability.

After “SZN”, Flammy put out 4 more musical projects with, “See You When I See You” being the latest, but his focus right now is on his popular gaming YouTube Channel, FlamGawd Gaming. The star quality was evident from the time I first met Flammy Marciano, but now it’s on full display for the world to see and the catalog/content has only gotten better.

Stay Tuned
