Weekly Woo Wop // Week 1

by DaQuANE FOX

Ladies and gentlemen, we are less than 30 days away from the greatest sport in American history. The NFL is almost underway, and this most recent offseason has me more amped than ever. From insane storylines, BLOCKBUSTER trades, Free Agency fallouts, and as a Browns fan I will say… a lot of legal shenanigans…

If this season isn’t the most anticipated NFL season of all time I don’t know what is. I feel like we say it every year, but the bread and butter in the stories prove it more than ever. Weekly predictions, injuries, betting lines, and more will be covered this season. I just hope you’re strapped in because this is going to be one hell of a rid.. Let’s Ride! Sorry I had to…

Week 1, Game one of the season already has us starting off HOT! Thursday, Sept. 8 we have (the AFC favorites to most) Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills heading to Los Angeles to face (once again NFC favorites) the Super Bowl Defending Champions, the Rams. As far as bettors, this game is a coin toss, I’d really be looking at the point total which as of 08/18/2022 is set at 52.5 points. If I were being honest I’m nuking the Under. This game will feature two high powered offenses but this is going to be a good ol’ aerial shootout with pretty much ZERO running game to speak of haha. And you know when both QB’s are throwing the ball 40+ times, these All Pro DB’s on both sides are going to be licking their chops at the rusty QB’s, with one who is probably dealing with a SB hangover. I have the Rams winning this one narrowly 26-23.

Another game I’d like to highlight is the Las Vegas Raiders vs Los Angeles Chargers game. And boy I don’t know about you guys but my TL is going to be going CRAZY during this game lol. Raiders and Chargers fans have reignited a hatred I forgot was still there. Charger fans feel like they have the FUTURE of the AFC West in QB Justin Herbert while the Bay Area Raider fans are itching to see that Bulldog connection become reality as Davante Adams reunites with his ol’ pal Derek Carr. Sportsbooks have LA as 3.5 favorites, and I look at that line and laugh. The Raiders have questions on defense, but I am still not a believer in Justin Herbert. Derek Carr has been for the most part super reliable in important games especially when there’s a GW FG needed to bring it home. Yes, the Chargers got key defensive pieces but frankly we see that every season. It takes about 5-6 weeks for a defense to gel with new Edge rushers and DB’s. The Raiders will be too much and Josh McDaniels will show the world why he was Belichick’s #1 understudy.

Now let’s speed run the rest of these games!
